There's a few ways to go with this one. First of all, let's all think of Amanda Berry.

Next up, I am a native of Cleveland, OH, and coming from such I have personal knowledge of slang terms in the Clevelands. The word berry in Cleveland means someone who is a prostitute, but instead of accepting money, prostitutes themselves for drugs.

Last names, as a matter-of-fact is where one derives their core power. So, it seems like Amanda Berry derives her core power from such berries. Please see this post from one of my Tumblrs to understand the drug addicts she deals with.

On a larger more disgusting scale (thanks Astaroth) is the dingle berry. That means they won't let go of a branch and let it all fall apart again.
