In the Hermetic Tarot , this is the Lord of Established Strength.
This guy is persuasive. He will persuade you to believe whatever agenda he is pushing but in subtle manner. He understands if he is too blunt with anything it will interrupt any open-mindedness. Being too forceful with what anyone or anything is pushing is definitely self-sabotaging behavior.
Definitely shown as The Devil in The Modern Spellcaster's Tarot by Scott Murphy and Melanie Marquis.
He's skillful at changing your mind and making you feel comfortable with the reasoning behind it. He works best by exciting his audience to rouse whatever he is on a mission to accomplish.
He's not associated with any demons or devils. If he was he wouldn't be so clearheaded.
Persuasion is not effective if the recipient gets bombarded or harassed. That is the least likely way to accomplish any goal. With this guy, it feels natural.

Aten, an above average mind, but an even stronger sun, forcing his views on one or another to put this, that or the other "down the drain."
