Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (1815-1852), daughter of George Gordon Byron, was an English mathematician and writer known mainly for her work on Babbage's analytical engine. Her notes are important in the early history of computers, so she is considered the world's first computer programmer.
Ada Lovelace was the first woman to serve as a computer programmer. She was an English woman who served in World War II.
